Fall Offerings At Starbucks

What are you most excited about?

If you're one of the people who really missed Starbucks's S'mores Frappucino this year, I'm right there with you. I loved the new Strawberry Funnel Cake one but I definitely missed the S'mores. Starbucks just released a bunch of this fall's drinks and it sounds like those of us who love chocolate drinks might have another disappointment on the horizon: the replacement of the Salted Caramel Mocha with the new Apple Crisp Macchiato. Man. As awesome as an apple crisp drink sounds, I'm really going to miss that mocha.

We can also expect some other fall flavors to come out in late August, from the traditional Pumpkin Spice Latte to Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew. These are flavors I always look forward to but can't do often; twice a season is good for these almost too-sweet drinks for me, but your miles may vary. They'll also have pumpkin scones and fox pops.

What drinks do you look forward to most? Which do you hope they'll still bring back? Share your thoughts in the chat.

Smith Tea Summer Celebration Kit

Have you tried these teas?

If you love the whole red, white and blue theme for summer, you should check out the Smith Tea Summer Celebration Kit. It features twelve sachets, four each of three flavors, each making a quart of tea. The red is a hibiscus mango blend, which is sure to be a hit with kids! Hibiscus tea is a lot like cherry kool-aid, which is a tip I wish I'd used when my teen was little.

The white tea is a white peach and the blue, which would probably be my favorite, is Blackberry Jasmine, which sounds SO yummy. Yes, it has pea flower coloring to get the blue hue, which is always a fun addition. The iced tea kit comes as a set for $34.99.

Would you try any of these flavors? Which one do you think you would like best?

Cocktail Making Tips

Share your favorites

Most people know what they like when it comes to a good cocktail. Some people love a fresh garnish. I know I love most of my cocktails ice cold, so I like to shake a lot of them. I also know where to get lots of flavors without added sugar or calories to make just about any flavor I want. Lots of people have tips and tricks they swear by.

What do you think of the 1:1:3 rule? I know plenty of people who think it's rubbish but it has sound reasoning behind it. There's also value in always following the recipe--but some of my favorite drinks were made by playing with a recipe and customizing it. I'm also a fan of the frosted mug but I know people who don't like those, either.

What do you think? What are your favorite cocktail tips? Share them in the chat.

Boozy Popsicles for Summer

Share your favorites

Do you make boozy popsicles to enjoy this time of year, or are you more likely to buy the kind you freeze and enjoy ready-made? They both obviously have their benefits and drawbacks, but I have found more success in the ready-made type myself. The great thing is that there are so many to choose from today that you can almost always find a flavor you like, too.

From Largo Bay to SunPop, Veil Vodka to Cazul 100, there are all kinds of brands with various flavors to try. Blue raspberry or cherry limemade? Be still my heart!  Of course, if you really want to make your own, there are so many great recipes to try, too. Honestly my favorite thing is just to fill an ice cold watermelon with something fruity and delicious!

Bones Coffee Christmas in July

Stock up on holiday flavors!

Bones Coffee is one of my favorite places to buy ground coffee, and right now they are having their annual Christmas in July sale. That means they will be selling their delicious winter holiday flavors right now in the middle of summer! I love that they sell sample packs so you can try before you buy the larger bags, and as someone who loves to drink different flavors every day, I tend to buy mostly samples to just keep it fresh every day.

The holiday flavors include:

White Chocolate Peppermint Bark
Jingle Bones (Coconut, Vanilla, Caramel)
Gingerbread Man
Eggnog
Oh Fuuudge!

Having tried most of these I highly recommend the Oh Fuuudge. It's so delicious. This year I plan on trying the eggnog flavor, too.

Will you be trying any of these flavors? If not, where do you like to buy flavored coffee samples? Share your source in the chat!

Disney-Inspired Drinks

Check out these TikTok creators for recipes.

TikTok gets a bad rap for being a goofy place for Gen Z's to do dance challenges, but this Elder Millennial has found it to be a fantastic place for recipes, decorating ideas, woke discussion and much more. There are lots of content creators who focus on Disney-inspired everything, from outfits to decor, and the Disney cocktails are especially fun.

PopSugar made a list of a bunch of these creators but there are surely many others who design drinks and even foods after Disney characters. I've seen some who just see what a food or drink item looks like in a film and then create what they think it would look and taste like! Sheer brilliance. I'm sure not all of them are fantastic but the ones I've tried have been.

Jelly Belly Drink Enhancers

Perfect for summertime!

As someone who avoids sugary drinks yet always craves them, I'm on the lookout for a good substitute all of the time. Lemonade is one of the drinks I've never been able to find in a lower-sugar version that perfectly matches my craving... until now! Jelly Belly makes drink enhancers and their lemonade, which doesn't have any sugar, is exactly what I was looking for.

The company makes other enhancer flavors as well, including green apple, cherry and punch, and while I haven't tried them yet I may have to after this incredible find. I'm talking snocones, shakes, mixed drinks that call for lemonade, the works!
